Every Warfighter Marker is designed around a compact 38 mm (1.5-inch) maple hardwood surface. Thoughtful placement of artwork, text, and optional UV Color highlights helps ensure your design remains balanced, recognizable, and easy to read.
Front Design
The primary visual anchor of your marker. Feature your strongest logo, emblem, insignia, or artwork with clear spacing and a balanced layout that draws attention to the design.
Back Design
Ideal for supporting information such as names, dates, mottos, unit designations, secondary artwork, or a QR code. Keep important details readable without overcrowding the surface.
UV Color Placement
Optional UV Color is applied after laser engraving. Selected areas can be highlighted with color to emphasize important elements while allowing the engraved details and natural maple wood to remain visible.
Edge Profile

Best File Types
Vector artwork (SVG, AI, EPS, or PDF) is preferred. High-resolution PNG files and sharp, clear logos also work well. Send the highest-quality original artwork available for the best engraving and UV Color results.
Design Details
Include names, dates, mottos, unit designations, logos, and any important wording. Let us know which elements matter most and how you want them arranged on the front or back.
UV Color Artwork
NEW OPTIONIf adding UV Color, provide your original color logo or artwork when available. Identify which areas should receive color, along with any specific colors you want maintained. Color is selectively applied after engraving to enhance your design.

No finished artwork? No problem. Send a rough sketch, reference image, existing logo, or description of your idea. We'll help develop a design suitable for engraving and optional UV Color enhancements.
No special production files required. You don't need to separate your artwork into engraving and UV Color layers. Send us your design and color preferences, and we'll prepare the artwork for our production process. Final details may be adjusted for readability at the marker's actual 38 mm size.

Small details make a big difference on a 38 mm marker. Explore these guidelines to understand how artwork, engraving, and optional UV Color work together to create a clean, professional result.
High contrast works best
Clear separation between light and dark areas helps artwork reproduce cleanly when laser engraved on maple hardwood. Strong black-and-white artwork is especially effective for logos, emblems, lettering, and detailed designs.
If your original artwork contains color, we can prepare an engraving version that preserves the most important shapes and details.
Bold lines engrave cleaner
Strong outlines and clearly defined shapes generally produce more consistent engraving results than extremely thin strokes. Lines that look sharp on a computer screen may become difficult to distinguish when reduced to marker size.
We may strengthen outlines or simplify fine details to improve clarity while preserving the character of your artwork.
Avoid micro-detail
Tiny lettering, narrow gaps, delicate textures, and tightly packed elements can lose definition on a 38 mm surface. Important names, dates, numbers, and symbols should remain readable at the marker's actual size.
When necessary, simplifying a background or increasing spacing can make the main design stand out more effectively.
Clean shapes feel more premium
Balanced layouts, intentional spacing, and recognizable shapes often make a stronger impression than overcrowded artwork. The goal is to create a design that looks professional both up close and at a glance.

Selective UV Color makes details stand out UV COLOR
UV Color works best when used intentionally. Rather than covering the entire marker, color can highlight specific elements such as flags, logos, emblems, lettering, or other important features.
Keeping some areas engraved-only allows the natural maple hardwood to remain part of the finished design, creating contrast between the wood, engraving, and added color.
Color appearance on natural wood UV COLOR
Maple hardwood has its own natural color, grain, and texture. These characteristics, along with the printing process, can influence how UV Color appears on the finished marker.
Original full-color logos and reference artwork help communicate your preferred colors. However, printed colors may vary slightly from what appears on a digital screen or in other printed materials.
Engraving and color work together UV COLOR
UV Color is applied after the marker has been laser engraved. The color artwork must align with the engraved design so highlighted areas appear in the intended positions.
Very narrow borders, tiny color-filled spaces, and complex overlapping details may need adjustment to accommodate production tolerances and maintain a clean finished appearance.
We optimize before production
Not every logo or illustration is ready for engraving at its original size. We review artwork for contrast, line definition, spacing, readability, and overall balance.
For UV Color orders, we also review which elements should receive color and how those highlights will work with the engraved artwork. Adjustments help prepare your design for the best practical result.
Every design is different. The best engraving and UV Color approach depends on the artwork, level of detail, and intended appearance. We review each custom design with its actual marker size in mind.

Because we work with real wood, natural grain patterns and subtle tonal differences are part of what makes each marker unique. Engraved areas may vary slightly in darkness and appearance from one marker to another.
Optional UV Color enhancements are applied after engraving to highlight selected details while preserving the natural maple appearance. Wood grain, surface texture, and the printing process may influence how finished colors appear.

Natural wood is part of the design. Minor variations in grain, engraving tone, and color appearance are normal characteristics of individually crafted hardwood markers.

From Concept to Finished Marker
Every Warfighter Marker begins with your idea and is brought to life through precision laser engraving on premium maple hardwood. Optional UV Color adds selected highlights, while our protective water-resistant finish helps preserve the wood during everyday use.
01 Send Your Concept
Start with your logo, patch, crest, sketch, reference image, or simply a description of what you want your marker to represent.
Include important names, dates, wording, layout preferences, and other details. If you want UV Color, tell us which elements you'd like highlighted and provide your preferred colors or original color artwork.
02 Artwork Preparation
We review your artwork and prepare it for the compact maple hardwood surface. This may include adjusting contrast, refining line thickness, improving spacing, and simplifying details that may not reproduce clearly at marker size.
For UV Color orders, we also prepare the selected color elements to complement the engraved design. You don't need to create separate engraving and color production files.
03 Digital Proof & Approval
You'll receive a digital proof showing the proposed design. Review the layout, text, artwork, and any requested UV Color placement before approving the final design.
Production begins after your final design is approved. Digital proofs represent the intended artwork; natural wood grain, engraving tone, and printed colors may vary slightly on the finished markers.
04 Precision Laser Engraving
Once your design is approved, each marker is precision laser engraved into premium North American maple hardwood.
The engraving creates the foundation of the design, defining its lettering, symbols, artwork, and other important details.
Markers ordered without UV Color retain their classic natural wood and engraved appearance.
05 Optional UV Color OPTIONAL
When UV Color is selected, the engraved markers receive an additional printing process that applies color to the designated areas of the design.
Color can enhance selected details such as flags, logos, emblems, lettering, and other important features while allowing the laser engraving and natural maple hardwood to remain visible.
Orders without UV Color skip this optional stage.
06 Protective Sealing & Finishing INCLUDED
Every Warfighter Marker receives a protective water-resistant seal as part of our finishing process. This helps reduce moisture absorption and lowers the risk of wood warping.
The protective finish allows the marker to be handled and used outside its acrylic capsule while helping preserve the natural hardwood surface.
Water-resistant does not mean waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking, standing water, or excessive moisture exposure.
07 Final Inspection & Shipping
Finished markers are inspected for overall engraving quality, design appearance, and any applicable UV Color details.
Every marker includes a clear protective acrylic capsule at no additional cost. Once inspected and packaged, your order is prepared for shipping.

Order & Artwork Review
We review your submitted artwork, customization selections, design notes, and any requested UV Color details. If clarification is needed, we may contact you before preparing your proof.

Digital Proof Delivered
For eligible custom orders, a digital design proof is typically sent within 48 hours. Your proof shows the proposed artwork, layout, wording, and applicable UV Color placement for review.

Your Approval Is Required
Carefully review your proof for spelling, dates, names, design details, and color placement. Production begins only after the final design is approved. Prompt approval helps keep your order on schedule.

Engraving, Finishing & Shipping
After approval, your markers are precision laser engraved, receive any selected UV Color enhancements, and undergo protective finishing and quality inspection. Each marker includes a clear acrylic capsule. Most custom orders ship within 3–5 business days after proof approval.
Planning for an event or deadline? Production estimates begin after final proof approval. Shipping transit time is additional, and larger or more complex orders may require extra production time. Contact us before ordering if you have a specific delivery date.
